I am looking to buy 15-20 used metal t-posts, 5-6-foot lengths.  Does anybody have some lying around, unused and unloved?

Eating local food does not save energy, this article in the NYT asserts.  That would be quite an assault on local farmers and farmers markets.

What do others think? A weakness in the author's argument seems to be that he does not distinguish between calories from scarce fossil energy and from abundant solar energy.

George Till Announces He Will Seek Reelection as State Representative

George Till MD, resident of Jericho for 22 years, has announced that he will run for another term in the Vermont State Legislature representing Bolton, Jericho, and Underhill in the State House of Representatives.

George has practiced medicine in Chittenden County for 22 years.  He is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Vermont College of Medicine.  He has served on the Mt. Mansfield Union School Board for 14 years, and is currently vice chairman of the board and the chair of the Finance Committee.  In 1995 George founded and for 12 years coached the Mount Mansfield Youth Lacrosse program. 

During the past legislative session George served on the House Committee on Health Care as well as the Vermont Commission on Health Care Reform.  He is proud of the accomplishments of the past legislative session  including several wide ranging health bills, removal of toxic chemicals from products  Vermonters use, a successful fight to prevent large proposed cost shifts to the Education fund, and  our  fight to maintain safety net programs despite  the worst economic crisis in 80 years .

“ I am proud of Vermont’s leadership role in health care reform and look forward  to the enormous task before us of redesigning  our system to provide both access and coverage for all Vermonters while more effectively  controlling costs.   We must reduce regional variations in health care utilization which do not improve health outcomes.  We must remove financial incentives to simply provide more care, more tests, and more procedures and instead must reward  better care and better outcomes.  We must creatively address the shortage of primary care physicians which affects 12 of Vermont’s 14 counties“ said Till. 

I appreciate all of the communication from constituents.  I appreciate those who have come for our evening meetings at the Deborah Rawson Memorial  Library.  I look forward to continuing those meetings as well as additional communication through Front Porch Forum, Two Towns Online, and the Mt. Gazette.  It has been a honor and a pleasure to represent the people of Underhill, Jericho and Bolton in the Vermont Legislature and I look forward to speaking with each of you.

REFLECTIVE 911 ADDRESS MARKERS FOR SALE

We can't help you if we can't find you.  Many of the homes in Underhill and Jericho are not clearly marked and in some cases not even numbered at all. This makes it extremely difficult for Fire, Police and Rescue to be able find you during an emergency.  So last year the Underhill Jericho Fire Department started offering the service of selling reflective 911 signs.

For only $12.50 you will get the double sided reflective address marker with your home's number either vertical or horizontal (based on your preference) and the hardware to put it up on a mailbox post or maybe on a tree at the entrance to your driveway.

We encourage everyone to buy the full size sign because they offer more visability, but there is also a half size sign available (The half size is only available for addresses whose number is between 1 and 99). If you choose the half size those cost is $5.00

All signs are green with white numbers.

Myself and my dog Lucky went out and limbed all the trees that were down on the paths at Mills River park this morning.  There are still 3 trees, 2 of them on the west field stone loop and one on the east end that need to be chain sawed, but I managed to make them so people can walk over them easier and not have to go off the paths.  The south loop is totally cleared!

 I would love to give a shout out to the 2 wonderful women who helped me finish up the last 2 trees.. I feel so bad that I always learn the dog's names before the people haha but THANK YOU Sadie's owner and THANK YOU Lucy and Ricky's owner! I was so exausted and your dogs kept Lucky from whining at me about how bored he was watching me work.  

Thank you again to the men who cleared the big tree in front of the bridge first thing Thursday am! It looks great!
